Kathmandu is the biggest city, serving as the capital of today's Nepal since the 18th century. This vibrant city is considered an open museum as it contains thousands of temples and other religious and historical monuments that withheld centuries-long important arts, cultures, architecture, and histories. These factors are the reasons why everyone visiting Nepal should go on a day tour at least to get some insights into this beautiful city. Kathmandu valley is divided into three cities: Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Patan, all with their unique charm and specialties. These cities contain 7 out of 10 World Heritage Sites of Nepal that are listed in the UNESCO Heritage List. Among them, four are religious temples and three are historical palaces that are now considered Durbar Squares. 

Being this rich in various art, culture, architecture, and history, the city of Kathmandu is the highlighted section of every visitor. Even the trekkers aiming the several days long treks in the high Himalayan region, take a day leisurely to roam around this city and collect some memories and capture the moments in Kathmandu. But the visit to these sites demands a guided tour in order to get knowledge and insights into the history and stories that it carries. So, we have designed this package to help visitors willing to take a day tour around this beautiful museumatic city.

In this package, we will be visiting some of the important heritage sites covering the most in a single-day tour of Kathmandu valley. Our first half of the day tour contains a visit to  Syambhunath, famous as a monkey temple, and Patan Durbar Square, an ancient palace that served as the capital of the Malla kingdom in the region. And second phase of our tour begin after having lunch at the best restaurant located nearby our other site, which will be Bouddhnath, the biggest Bouddha Stupa all over the country and even in the whole world. Then, our day tour takes us to the Pashupatinath, the most sacred  Hindu temple, before concluding the trip.

Day

9:00 AM: Pick up from your hotel

9:00-9:30 AM: Drive to Swayambhunath

9:30-10:30 AM: Roam around Swayambhunath and explore the temple complex. Here, you will see the iconic white dome stupa, prayer wheels, colorful flags, and other monuments.

10:30-11:00 AM: Drive to Patan Durbar Square

11:00 AM-1:00 PM: Tour Patan Durbar Square and visit the ancient palace and temples including the Krishna Temple, Bhimsen Temple, Taleju Bhawani Temple, the Golden Temple, and the museum of the Malla kings.

1:00-2:00 PM: Drive to Bouddhnath Stupa and have lunch at a nearby restaurant

2:00-3:00 PM: Visiting Bouddhnath Stupa provides an exceptional chance to join local pilgrims in walking around the stupa and spinning prayer wheels, while also lighting butter lamps and immersing yourself in the peaceful atmosphere. Besides, you can also explore the diverse monasteries and temples located in the vicinity of the stupa, among which the Shechen Monastery, an essential Buddhist monastery in Nepal, is worth exploring.

3:00-4:30 PM: Drive to Pashupatinath and take tour around the sacred temple. At Pashupatinath, you will see the famous temple complex and the cremation ghats by the Bagmati River.

4:30-5:00 PM: Drive back to your hotel and our day tour concludes here.
